Question 11 Oct 07, 2025
What new requirement is being introduced by the Delhi Jal Board for property registration in Delhi?
Water bill The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has approved a proposal making it mandatory for residents to submit a water bill during property registration. This move aims to increase revenue, reduce illegal water connections, and ensure that water dues are settled at the time of property transactions. Currently, there are around 29 lakh water connections compared to 57 lakh electricity connections, indicating widespread unaccounted usage. The policy also supports efforts to expand the water and sewer network to help clean the Yamuna River within three years. Additionally, the fee to convert illegal connections to legal ones has been reduced to encourage compliance.
Question 12 Oct 07, 2025
Which act has the Delhi Police invoked against members of the Himanshu Bhau gang?
Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) The Delhi Police invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against 10 members of the Himanshu Bhau gang, known for crimes like extortion, kidnapping, and murder since 2020. MCOCA allows for longer custody periods and makes bail difficult to obtain. The gang’s leader, Himanshu, is believed to be operating from abroad using a fake passport, and a trial in absentia has been requested. The gang created fear through violent acts, including shootings at car showrooms and the murder of a rival in a restaurant. The case is being investigated by the Narcotics and Drugs (NDR) unit of the Crime Branch.
Question 13 Oct 07, 2025
What did a recent study reveal about indoor air quality in Delhi homes?
Fungal spores were 12 times higher than WHO safety limits A joint study by Delhi University’s Satyawati College, Jamia Millia Islamia, and South Dakota State University found that indoor air in Delhi homes contains fungal spore concentrations up to 12 times higher than WHO safety limits. Bacterial levels were also over 10 times the recommended threshold. These microbes, often smaller than 2.5 microns, can penetrate deep into lungs and cause respiratory issues, skin allergies, and anxiety. The study surveyed 336 households in low-income, poorly ventilated areas like Ashok Vihar and Azadpur across all seasons. Children and women were found to be especially vulnerable due to higher indoor exposure.

How much banned firecrackers were seized by Delhi Police ahead of the festive season?
More than 1,200 kilograms Delhi Police conducted multiple raids across the city and seized over 1,200 kilograms of banned firecrackers to prevent illegal sales and reduce pollution and safety risks. Operations in Shahdara, Ashok Nagar, and by the Crime Branch recovered 746 kg, 124 kg, and 394 kg respectively. Six individuals were arrested, including shop owners storing firecrackers for profit. The drive aligns with court-imposed bans on polluting fireworks in the National Capital Region. Authorities acted on intelligence inputs and intensified enforcement as festivals approached.
Question 15 Oct 07, 2025
What is the total value of assets attached by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Karnataka MUDA-linked money laundering case as of October 2025?
₹400 crore As per the report dated 07/10/2025, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached fresh assets worth ₹40.08 crore, bringing the total value of attached properties in the MUDA case to ₹400 crore. The case originated from an FIR filed by the Karnataka Lokayukta Police and involves allegations of illegal land allotments and money laundering by former MUDA Commissioner GT Dinesh Kumar. The ED alleges that proceeds of crime were used to purchase immovable properties in the names of Kumar’s relatives and associates. Despite initial allegations involving Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi, both the Supreme Court and the Justice PN Desai Commission have exonerated them. The ED continues its probe into the nexus between MUDA officials and real estate developers.
